Five NSU students die Sunday after truck plummets into river near Tahlequah

Five young Northeastern State University students died Sunday night after the truck they were in drove through a guardrail and fell about 35 feet into the river below. Donovan Caldwell, 18, of Muskogee, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck southbound on Welling Road near Tahlequah when the crash occurred about 10:40 p.m. Sunday, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
